ABOUT

ANNIE LITTLE
HAIR ARTS

For as long as I can remember I have had an interest in hair. It probably started when I got a Girls World toy for Christmas. Since then either in the background of my life, or in the foreground at work there has been hair.

Annie Little Hair Arts embraces me as an artist and gives me the scope to explore the different elements I enjoy. Experiencing hair (and makeup) in a variety of contexts is something I have always done and I am making my way back to regular exploring. If I am not at work I am usually writing, reading, visiting, researching, thinking, commenting, doing, educating, mentoring and talking about hair.

My formal training began over 25 years ago at the College of North East London. I have studied at the London College of Fashion, the University of the Arts, London and the London School of Barbering.  I left these places with;

- HND BTEC in Theatrical & Media Makeup

- City & Guilds in Wig-making

- NVQ II Hairdressing

- NVQ 3 Barbering

- MA in Fashion Entrepreneurship

I have worked for creative companies like Madame Tussauds, Alex Rouse Wig Co, Makeup Forever, Theatre Calgary & Alberta Theatre Projects.

I currently work in Film & TV in the hair and makeup department.

Most recently I founded BLCKSTR, workshops supporting HMUA in film & tv working with textured hair and makeup.
