ABOUT
ANNIE LITTLE
HAIR ARTS
For as long as I can remember I have had an interest in hair. It probably started when I got a Girls World toy for Christmxas. Since then either in the background of my life, or in the foreground at work there has been hair.
Annie Little Hair Arts embraces me as an artist and gives me the scope to explore the different elements I enjoy. Experiencing hair (and makeup) in a variety of contexts is something I have always done and I am making my way back to regular exploring. If I am not on a film/tv set I am usually writing, reading, visiting, researching, thinking, commenting, doing, educating, mentoring and talking about hair.

My formal training began over 25 years ago at the College of North East London. I have studied at the London College of Fashion, the University of the Arts, London and the London School of Barbering. I left these places with;

BLCKSTR
Working with Textured Hair &
Makeup for Medium to Deep Skin Tones
I founded BLCKSTR to answer the call around diversity and equality at the makeup mirror.
I created hair and makeup workshops to support hair and makeup artists working in film and TV to become more familiar with, feel more confident about and have more practice in working with the hair and makeup of people of colour.
I work in collaboration with artists and organisations to deliver workshops around the country, abroad, and online - for groups and individuals.
