Although my start was in makeup; hair and wigs, have been my medium from the beginning; explored both practically and conceptually.
My work spans Film & TV, creative and visual projects, writing and education. When I am not on set, I am usually thinking, writing, watching, discussing, researching or mentoring. My career in hair and makeup has unfolded across a creative practice, research, education and leadership.
I currently work in Film & TV in the hair and makeup department as a hair artist and designer, and alongside that develop a creative and educational practice called BLCKSTR.
Alongside my screen work, I mentor hair and makeup artists, speak on panels, and contribute as a juror for industry awards and film festivals.
I founded BLCKSTR; professional workshops for hair and makeup artists working with textured hair across Film, Theatre & TV. Through BLCKSTR, I collaborate with artists and screen organisations to deliver a range of industry related educational projects.
BLCKSTR reflects my commitment to skills development, education, access and industry standards.

Working with Textured Hair &
Makeup for Medium to Deep Skin Tones
I founded BLCKSTR to answer the call around diversity and equality at the makeup mirror.
I created hair and makeup workshops to support hair and makeup artists working in film and TV to become more familiar with, feel more confident about and have more practice in working with the hair and makeup of people of colour.
I work in collaboration with artists and organisations to deliver workshops around the country, abroad, and online - for groups and individuals.
